Our client is a Commercial & Residential Property Insurance Broker based in Borehamwood who pride themselves on providing their clients with a first-class, bespoke service. With a forward-thinking, consultative approach to insurance broking, they are looking for a link-minded individual to join their Borehamwood team as a Business Development Manager.

Job Duties

In this role, you’ll take full ownership of the sales cycle — from prospecting and cold-calling to client meetings, networking events, and closing deals. You’ll be responsible for identifying and building relationships with property management companies, landlords, and businesses, helping them find the right insurance solutions to protect their assets. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated sales professional who thrives on winning new business and wants to make a tangible impact on a small but ambitious team.

 

Duties (include but are not limited to):

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the commercial and residential property sectors (largely with property management companies
  • Generate leads through cold-calling, email outreach, networking, and industry events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with property management companies, landlords etc.
  • Conduct meetings (in-person and virtual) to understand client needs and present tailored insurance solutions.
  • Working towards KPIs; effectively manage the full 360 sales process — from lead generation and qualification through to proposal, negotiation, and close.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth handover of clients and exceptional ongoing service.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline status, and client interactions using the company CRM.
  • Represent the business professionally at networking functions, trade shows, and client events.

Company Description
Applicant Specification
  • Proven experience in B2B sales, ideally within insurance or financial services (field sales / business development / sales executive).
  • Experience in or working with property management companies strongly preferred.
  • Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and comfortable working independently.
  • Strong prospecting and cold-calling abilities with a proactive approach to generating new business.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to understand client needs and tailor solutions.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, with experience managing a sales pipeline and CRM system.
  • Professional, credible, and comfortable engaging with senior decision-makers.
  • Full UK driving licence with access to own car, and willingness to travel for meetings and events.
  • Willingness to complete company funded insurance exams (in time)
