‘Recruiting for your future success’

Our client is a multinational company supplying spare parts to heavy industry around the world since 1981. The company purchases spare parts from European and North American manufacturers, and sells them to customers throughout Asia, Africa, Australasia, and South America.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated, organised and detail-focused Buyer to join the team at their Head Office in Colchester. This role would be suited to someone looking to gain valuable experience in the field of international trade, Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) purchasing or extend their career within the procurement environment.

Job Duties
  • Researching and liaising with potential new vendors.
  • Obtaining and comparing pricing from vendors.
  • Negotiating on price and terms of business.
  • Preparing quotations for customers.
  • Placing and handling purchase orders.
  • Track and progress orders to meet customer delivery dates.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics team to ensure quality of goods and deliveries are met on time.
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM).
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
  • General customer service-related duties.

  • Fluent German speaker.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Previous experience in a related role.
  • Excellent telephone and communication skills are essential to creating good relations and ensuring the success of the company worldwide.
  • Previous experience in purchasing or logistics beneficial.
  • Technical knowledge and/or other foreign language skills beneficial (German, Italian or Arabic).
  • Own transport is essential to get to and from the workplace.
