The company: Our client is a dynamic and growing business based in Colchester, Essex, providing specialist services across a range of technical and operational sectors. They pride themselves on delivering reliable, high-quality support to clients and internal teams. They are now seeking a like-minded individual to join their Projects Teams as a Projects Coordinator.

Job Duties

This is a key support role within the projects department, focused on overseeing small works (typically under £10k) and ensuring smooth coordination across planning, procurement, documentation, and client liaison. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Director, Installations Manager, Engineers and electricians to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for organising and planning small-scale projects, ordering materials, creating RAMS and Gantt charts, and maintaining accurate documentation. The role also includes occasional site visits (typically once a week) for audits and client meetings.

This is a full-time, office-based role. The post holder must be confident managing multiple tasks, liaising with technical teams, and supporting project delivery from start to finish.

Job Duties
  • Organise and plan small works projects (under £10k) from initiation to completion
  • Order materials and coordinate delivery schedules with suppliers
  • Create and maintain project documentation including RAMS, Gantt charts, and client files
  • Liaise with clients for site audits and progress updates (typically once per week)
  • Support the wider projects team with scheduling, reporting, and documentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Project Manager, Director, Installations Manager, Engineers and electricians
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal processes
  • Assist with general project administration and coordination tasks

Essential:

  • Strong organisational and planning skills
  • Confident communicator with ability to liaise with clients and internal teams
  • Experience in project coordination, administration, or scheduling
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel)
  • Reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced office environment

Desirable:

  • Technical understanding of buildings or BMS (not essential)
  • Experience creating RAMS and Gantt charts
  • Familiarity with construction or engineering environments
  • Full UK driving licence (for occasional site visits)
  • Experience working with project teams or contractors
