Job Description

Our client is a long-established HVAC specialist providing heating, cooling, ventilation and building management system services across East Anglia and London. In addition to this, our client also offers hard facilities management, including electrical, security, alarm systems, controls and fire safety alongside their specialist partners.

With over 100 years of experience delivering maintenance, installation and 24/7 emergency support, they are trusted by a predominantly commercial client base for their high-quality engineering and reliable service.

They are now seeking a Technical Services Manager to oversee the delivery of all engineering services, ensuring the right engineering solution is delivered, maintaining strong communication with clients, and upholding the company’s reputation for exceptional service quality.

Job Duties

The purpose of this role is to manage the full lifecycle of service delivery — from job allocation and technical oversight to client communication and team performance — ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard, with commercial viability and transparency at the forefront of decision making.

Job Duties (Including but not limited to):

  • Overseeing the delivery of all planned and reactive maintenance and installation works.
  • Supporting the scheduler with allocating engineers to jobs based on skills, qualifications and workload and taking the lead where necessary.
  • Review all job reports before they are sent to clients, offering technical expertise to ensure exceptional quality of work, whilst also communication with clients with technical insights.
  • Providing technical oversight for maintenance and installation quotes.
  • Reviewing and improving service delivery processes to enhance efficiency.
  • Leading, mentoring and developing field-based engineers and apprentices.
  • Conducting performance reviews and supporting ongoing skills development.
  • Ensuring all engineers maintain required certifications (e.g., Gas Safe, F-Gas) and stay up to date with current regulations, ideally across multiple areas of facilities management.
  • Managing safety notices, compliance documentation and health & safety standards.
  • Acting as a senior point of contact for client communication and escalations.
  • Managing the service delivery budget and monitoring financial performance.
  • Overseeing supplier and subcontractor relationships.
  • Managing fleet vehicles, tools and engineering equipment.

  • Proven experience in service delivery or operations management within HVAC, building services or facilities management.
  • Strong technical understanding of heating, cooling, ventilation and building management systems.
  • Experience managing and developing field-based engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues clearly.
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations.
  • Commercially aware with experience managing budgets.
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
  • Relevant technical qualification (HVAC, mechanical or electrical engineering).
